Ms. Conroy's wonderful slim book is a warm, concise and precise guide to the sometimes unpleasant task of caring for and interacting with elderly parents / relatives / friends who are not completely competent. By turns compassionate, practical, encouraging, and realistic, but always non-judgemental, Conroy writes in a light-hearted style that makes the topic approachable. She provides specific techniques and step by step suggestions, illustrated with examples and personal anecdotes from her professional practice and personal life. She is practical and realistic and never sugar coats the reality of the occasionally difficult task. She describes solutions for unusual situations and suggests ways that you can create your own solutions to your own unique problems. I found this book very useful and helpful myself, and I highly recommend it to everyone who has, or will have, a beloved elderly relative or friend.

Christina Conroy is a compassionate therapist sharing wisdom gained from her own hard-earned experience. The problems she describes are recognizable and real, and her inventive strategies for coping with them really work! This book is entertaining, informative, encouraging and inspiring - a truly important contribution to the challenging field of eldercare.

I loved this book. It was a joy to read and I will reread it many times as it is filled with a multitude of ideas, information, and advice on how to offer help and care to a parent or loved one. I was especially impressed on how the Author explains and shares with us (through her own experiences caring for her elderly dad) a step-by step approach including specific exercises to help both caregiver and loved one work together on ways to discover and pursue one's Passions. The cartoons by husband Larry Conroy accompanying each chapter are priceless. My recommendation for people of all ages is to get a copy of this creative Manual ASAP and share it with others. It can be helpful and apply to all.Judy Cohen
