I have three major issues with this deck, all due to receiving a deck that was not as pictured and not good quality.1. The major arcana cards are not labeled at all. There is only a very small roman numeral at the bottom, not a label, like "The Death" or "Empress" card. You have to know what the card is in order to know WHAT it is. And as a beginner, I don't. Also in the product picture, the major arcana cards are all labeled. In the deck I received, they are not.2. Thin card stock. These are cheaply made cards and the stock is very thin. I don't expect they will last long after many shufflings.3. In the deck I received, there is no border on any of the cards, unlike the product pictures. This deck is not what was advertised.The illustrations are nice, but I don't see any connection of the illustration to their meaning on most of them. They need some more clear markings for a beginner. I'd have to try to figure out what major arcana card is what. Some are obvious by the picture. Some are not.This deck is not at all what was advertised. Flimsy card stock, no borders, no card labels. I'm returning them for a refund.
These cards are very beautiful. I don't use them as much as I would like but the illustrations are sweet. Two of the cards bother me... The Devil card and (I can't remember the name of the card off the top of my head) but it shows a crippled cat and another cat walking through the snow past what might be a church window. That just made my heart ache.Over all, these cards would probably look beautiful in a frame even if you don't wish to use them for their intended purpose. They are whimsical and fun to look through. I may eventually have them on my wall since I am not using them as much as I'd like, mostly due to a busy life.A definite must for cat lovers who are also into Tarot!
Beautiful imagery, and very high quality deck. However, the cards portrayed by other customers differ from my deck. The deck I received does not have written card titles. For example, the King of Cups does not have "King of Cups" written on it. Simply number and symbol. I have been working with Tarot for quite a few years, but the symbols for King and Queen, respectively, without the written description on the card, make it a bit difficult to distinguish between those cards. The Paige and Knight Symbols are easily distinguishable. Regardless, I am happy with the purchase!
If you love cats & you love tarot this is the deck for you. I have been working with tarot for ten years now & have many decks, but this one quickly became one of my favorites. The artwork is VERY GOOD. The artist really knows how to capture the body language & expressions of cats & these are used to great effect to convey the meanings of the cards. I found that all I really needed to do was look at these cards & the meaning was evident. And that's good because the LWB (little white book) that comes with the deck gives only the barest hint of card meanings. It also gives two spreads for these cards. And is in several languages as Lo Scarabeo usually does. The deck would be good for beginners & experts alike, & would also be appropriate for younger folks too.The pagan aspect is nice too & not overdone. (Really what else would cats be if not pagan?) If you know something about wicca, witchcraft, or paganism then some of the symbology will have more meaning for you. But even if you didn't know anything about it, the deck would still speak volumes just in the expressiveness of the cats themselves.All in all it is a delightful deck! Best cat deck yet published.(I have no idea why this page says "ring bound" as this is just a regular deck of Lo Scarabeo Tarot cards packaged in a small box with the LWB.)
So I've had this deck for some years now, it was the deck I learned how to read tarot with primarily. I have to say it's also my favorite and reads very well. The images are gorgeous and the cats truly speak their messages.I got word from people at my forum that the deck had changed and was now borderless, like the main product picture. I was interested and decided to purchase it again to see the difference and compare. However, the deck I received yesterday was the older version, the same one I own already. A previous reviewer got the new one, but I got the old one. I'm getting an exchange on it. So just be aware, you may receive either deck!
I'm so happy with this deck. Pictures are wonderful, sophisticated facial espression of the cats, and they carry very well original meaning. it's printed in very high quality paper, smooth in your hand. I get used to it quite quicky. Love it !!!! If you're a cat lover, this is a must have deck.
