This Book is a lousy lousy book. I will tell you why. Save your money don't buy this book. There are much better books available.1) There are far too many typos throughout the book (misspelled words, missing letters,...). This would have been an easy fix with a spell checker;2) The book does not explain Scrum correctly nor does it use the correct terminology in a few places. As an example the author uses the term "project backlog". There isn't a project backlog, there is a Product Backlog and a Sprint Backlog.3) Scrum isn't correctly explained and reading this book would send you in the wrong direction.4) There aren't any diagrams that may out that map out the Scrum Framework nor show what the important artifacts are;I don't write negative reviews but this book was so bad that I had to.
At first, I didn’t know what Scrum is, but thought of downloading it anyway. So when I first read it, I was totally confused. But then as I read more of the e-book, I was able to understand it further. The way it was written was something that the general reader can understand. However, I just noticed a few spelling errors but it is quite bearable. Don’t take my word for it because I am just being me. The quality of the whole e-book is not compromised by it. Overall the entire reading was worthwhile and I have learned so much about Agile management. Worth downloading!
Lots of good info about Scrum here.This book gives a good number of examples of the applications of Scrum.That was helpful.I also found the way the table of contents was set up was good as far as the reader getting a better sense of how to navigate all of the info in the book.I also found the case management studies very interesting.Also, there was excellent coverage of common pitfalls to avoid.Bottom line is there alot of information in this book on the subject.For small businesses and large there is alot of knowledge which will help any business achieve their goals.I recommend this book for anyone looking for a detailed explanation on this subject.
Everything you need to know about Scrum is found in this book. The book covers the history, what it is exactly, and how Scrum is being used as a project management tool. The book also explains how staff can be supervised, the hierarchy, and the different roles that employees and management play. I found the case studies to be particularly interesting. The book reviewed case studies of Apple and Google. Quickstart guide it is and a useful tool for those looking to find out more about Scrum.
A great book to read BEFORE you decide to enter the field of software development and/or how programming gets done at the base level. What goes into it before even any code is written. This book is a much better description of SCRUM in easier to understand language than other reference media (I.e. encyclopedia, Wikicopedia, etc).
This title answered all of my questions about Scrum. It is definitely a grab and go book for beginners. I don't know what the original content was like but I got the cover with "New & Improved" in the corner and the learning experience was quick and painless. I would recommend this title to anyone looking to learn more about Agile and Scrum.
Easy to listen and comprehensive, but her monotone delivery tends to make you fade in and out. It needs to be more lively, delivered with some personality and not so computerized. Relevant info, helps you keep some key points in mind.
Book contradicts itself with intention of staying neutral vs other approaches, doesn't compare agile methods against basic legacy tools (priority list, giant chart, etc), doesn't focus on strengths of agile approach
