There are better options out there. It is not aligned well to the new course. A few of the questions are bad and have no answer. For example #36 on practice test 1... I found a SCOTUS comparison FRQ is not the correct format and uses two unrequired cases. Lots of m.C. questions that require students to know the case names on unrequired cases.The positive is the 5 minute exercises at the back of the book

The book is fine although a few of the chapter review questions are not in the correct format, but the four online tests are not updated in anyway. The are the old 5 stem test questions that have not been updated. I don't know why you would spend $ to get 4 tests that are outdated.I would just buy Princeton review or Barrons instead as those tests are in the correct format..I will edit this review if they actually update the online tests.

It is obvious this book was rushed to publish due to the new AP gov test. Is has a lot of obvious errors and out of date questions.

I've gone through 5 test prep books thus far to try to find one for my students that captures the redesigned exam. This is the best by a long shot. Princeton Review is totally NOT keyed to the new exam--pure laziness on their part. AMSCO completely overdoes the content, leavings students with an overwhelming study load. This one is lean and effective. The test at the end of the book and two of their online tests are keyed exactly to the new exam. I agree with a previous reviewer that said students will want more detail on the court cases. Streetlaw is probably the best place to find that. But for an overall review, this is the best I've found for the redesign.

As an AP teacher, I have bought this book every year. With the redesign of the course, I was hoping for something better. The test online seem to be updated as of today, to meet the new objectives. However, I feel the book is lacking. I don't feel there is adequate information about the court cases and primary documents. One sentence just doesn't cover the content. The book still gives a lot of court cases that are NOT on the exam, which I'm afraid will confuse students. There are very few graphs and charts at the end of each "review" chapter, but I feel they need this practice the most. Also, the practice test do not have any sort of political cartoons to analyze. For the first time in seven years, I've encouraged my students to NOT buy this book to help them study for the exam.
