I love to cook and I also travel a lot for business therefore was very excited when I got this cookbook. In fact, I chose 6 recipes then immediately went to Costco and purchased what I needed to make each of them. I spent an entire weekend preparing all 6 and could hardly wait to try them at a later date.The information about what and how to freeze was very helpful. As with the others who've reviewed this cookbook, I too, feel it should have some pictures to give it a more professional and enticing appearance.Unfortunately, all 6 of the recipes I tried were almost tasteless. To add enough flavor to them after thawing it took as long as if I'd made it from scratch at the time of dinner---no time savings there, just great disappointment in the lack of flavor in all 6 recipes. One of the recipes I tried was the French Onion soup....it tasted like weak dishwater.I was very disheartened that a book with such valuable freezer info, large potion quantities, and suggestions for this type of meal prep turned out to have such flavorless recipes that I ended up discarding most of the meals. I read the reviews by the majority who seem to like the recipes in this book and wondered if I happened to pick the only 6 inferior recipes or if my taste buds have higher {stronger} standards. I have a vast collection of all types of cookbooks--over 400!--yet this one I donated to my local library for its book sale.

In our household I normally do the cooking. I enjoy it. Most of the time. I'm also a guy and while I love good food I love efficiency! I've a good assortment of one pot or one pan recipe books, crock pot books, etc. None of the other books really hit the good food / efficiency / budget minded criteria so important to me. I'm a professional with a background in Process Improvement in the Financial Services industry... Go figure.This book hit the spot for me in all of criteria above. Even the shopping trip was simple and while it was a good size haul for just the two of us... We came in well under what we normally spend.While the book contains simple recipes requiring the "dump meat in a gallon freezer bag with marinade" it also included more sophisticated recipes as well for when I feel a little more spunky.Ultimately this book has helped me easily, with a severe lack of frustration, hit my criteria above and goal of having good food ready to go each day that makes the (always too short week nights) much easier. I can imagine what it might do for a couple with kids.Thank you for publishing this book!

Great if you are looking for something between not cooking at all and pre cooking everything. I was looking for a book that was more attuned to fully prepared meals, where this book wants you to just get things ready to cook before freezing for cooking later... Not exactly what I was wanting, but I just cook the recipes and freeze them myself, unfortunately I don't have the precious reheating directions that a good meal prep book should have.

I was not looking for so many recipes. I wanted more technical information on what types of foods freeze best and which are problematic. I also wanted information on trouble spots and how to avoid them.More helpful information about containers, cling wrap, vacuum bags, storage bags, and avoiding freezer burns would be more helpful. Also the best techniques for thawing and reheating meals.I really want to cook meals fully then freeze them in portions so they are "heat & eat". More like homemade frozen dinners. A section on pasta sauces would be awesome since you can cook pasta quickly as needed and have a 15 minute meal anytime.I will likely donate this book to a book drive.

I can't praise this cookbook enough.I like everything I've tried so far. My freezer is always full of red sauce baggies ready when I want to whip up something delicious. A bag is thawing for tonight along with the delicious chicken parmigiana all ready for the oven. I have meatball dishes and batches of the best ever chili. I'm single and hate to spend time cooking for myself every night after work. This cookbook works for me as I buy in bulk at Costco, prepare big batch recipes from this book and freeze single portions in just a few hours or less on a day off. I spend less time shopping, cook less and enjoy fabulous home cooked meals. I also find it less stressful when family and friends visit because I don't have to worry about menu ideas or whats on hand to cook. I was able to pull complete meals out at a moments notice for a relative who needed a helping hand until their disability check arrived. Wish I had this cookbook when my kids were small. It was difficult trying to work and keep everyone fed while being exhausted at the end of the day. Cleaning up after the meal is easier this way as well. If I could keep only one cookbook in my wide collection this one is it.

This is one of my favorite cookbooks. It is great for easy dishes that can quickly be cooked for dinner. It mostly has main dishes, but things that pair with a salad and fresh veggies for a healthy meal. I really like that it isn't full of casseroles! I would choose spending 30 mins to get three meals ready then the 60+ Mins on a blah "prepared" box service any day! This is truly customizable for any size family. I love having a few freezer meals for when time is tight and you want to put a good meal on the table.

My mom and I used recipes from this book to do a 30 day meal prep. It has been extremely helpful, as we both have busy schedules and work late hours. I love the convenience of the cooking and freezing and the recipes are pretty easy. My only real gripe is that some of the quantities of seasonings are not quite right. Some recipes are underseasoned and some are overseasoned in my opinion. However, I will modify the recipes next time I make them. Overall, this is a great buy.
